This movie was so good. It follows two old friends, Poppy (eccentric), and Alex (reserved) as they go on trips and through various relationships. They end up finding out that even though they both wanted different things, they also needed each other more than they realized (REALLY brief summary, so there's a lot more to the story). I loved the book by Emily Henry and the movie version did not disappoint. I'd give it a solid 8.5/10. It didn't have everything from the book but I LOVE Poppy and Alex's dynamic and Tom Blyth is always a win 😍. It came out on Netflix on January 9th so check it out if you're into rom-coms!
I just watched "Into the Wild", the movie about Chris McCandless and it was brutal. 10/10 though. I read the book by John Krakauer and I think the movie does a really nice job of bringing Chris's story to life in a visual way. It's narrated by his sister unlike the book which is written in more of a news report style by Krakauer. Carine's perspective brings a more intimate feel to the audience. Seeing his experience and the things I'd read about on screen brought me to tears. It was well crafted and tasteful in the way it memorializes Chris and what has become his symbolic journey. I'd recommend it to anyone who thinks too much.
